Easter Egg Sugar Cookies


Ingredients:

1 ½ cups sugar
1 ½ cups softened butter
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
Ingredients for Frosting:
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons softened butter
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Other food coloring
Colored sprinkles

Method:

Mix cream with sugar and butter in a mixing bowl until the mixture becomes fluffy.

Now add eggs along with vanilla and beat the mixture well. Now add the other ingredients one by one to the creamed mixture and keep on beating until everything blends together properly. Now cover the mixture and chill it for around 30 minutes. Now lightly flour a surface and roll the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut these into various shaped cookies as you like them. After this has been done, transfer the cookies to an ungreased cookie sheet. Now it’s time to bake! Bake the cookies at around 350 º for around 10-13 minutes. When the baking is done, cook them on a wire rack.

As for frosting, mix all the ingredients together and if required, add milk to make the frosting thinner. At this moment if you want the cookies to be of specific color, you can add coloring. Finally spread the frosting over the cookies and decorate them if you want. The great thing about sugar cookies is that you can make it in every holiday as it is simple to make and everyone loves it.
